Happy 1st Halloween Pumpkin

The Pumkin Patch

Calvin joined his friends at the Brigham House Assisted Living Center for a halloween party with music on the guitar and 'trick or treating' with the senior residents. They loved seeing him in his costume. After, a few of the new moms got together at my house for lunch and a nice long walk.

7 weeks

Getting cuter everyday. This morning Calvin slept through a live music show, and then at my doctor appointment got passed around to all the nurses who oohed and aahed over the monkey.

First Smiles

New Developments

Calvin is now 6 and a half weeks old, and reached new milestones this week. We took our first out of town adventure to Connecticut this week for Great-Grandma Annette's birthday. He mostly sleeps in the car now! He smiles! He lifts his head! He grabs and sucks fingers! He shreiks! And lastly, his diaper is just beginning to stink too! His smile just melts my heart, pictures of it soon to come.

75 Percentile

Friday at the pediatricians we found out that Calvin is weighing 10 pounds 15 ounces (so I bet he is 11 lbs. by today) and is the size of an average 2 month old at only 5 weeks! He is averaging 75 percentile of height - 22 inches, weight, and head size. Im not sure if he gets his heavyness from moms or dads side of the family here.

Bottle Update

Wow, thanks so much for all the useful comments and advice. Calvin still isn't using the bottle, and keeps choking and backing away as we continue to introduce it. We are using the Avent bottles with the slowest flow-rate, level one. We will keep trying, and are also now debating purchasing the Dr. Browns bottle which everyone keeps suggesting. Also, next time I will leave the room too and see if that helps. I will keep you posted on the progress here. Nursing thankfully is going very well, and Calvin has a healthy appetite.

Introducing the bottle

I have begun pumping milk so that eventually we can feed Calvin with the bottle. Unfortunately, Calvin isn't impressed with the bottle yet, and keeps choking on it. We will keep trying. Any suggestions are welcome.

Rosh Hashanah

We had a really nice time celebrating the new year. The first night we went to Jill and Davids house for their first official dinner party after getting married, and it was really nice. The second night Calvin and I joined the Epsteins for the childrens service at their synagogue, and Dan later joined us at their house for another round of brisket and kugel, apples and honey. It was delicious and fun. Bruno(2 and a half) and Ana-Natalia(6 years old) love their cousin Calvin, and showered him with hugs and kisses and love. It was very sweet to watch. Bruno kept pointing and shouting Bay-Bee with a big smile on his face.
