First shots followed by a quiet weekend

Friday Calvin went into the doctors for his first round of immunizations. He took 3 shots, 1 on the left thigh, 2 on the right. He cried briefly, but 10 minutes later was smiling again. Saturday we discovered Stellinas restaurant with the grandparents, and plan to go back again. It was a great meal. Sunday we visited an open house for curiosity sake, read the paper and watched movies.

Couple of things on those shots - get some arnica - Hyland's makes a great stick form called "bumps & bruises" that you can get at most health food stores. Rub that on the injection site and he should get less soreness and bruising from the shots. Second - insist on nursing WHILE they do the shots. He might not even notice what they are doing if you nurse during the shots. It's also a great method of pain relief for them. http://www.kellymom.com/health/illness/bf-analgesia.html
